Illustration Friday - SHADES

Bathing Bertha spent her last $10 on SHADES to compliment her outfit, but if she doesn't spring for some sunscreen soon, she'll blend in with her bikini!

I found this week's word, SHADES to be the only easy one we've gotten since I started participating in the challenges 7 weeks ago...and believe it or not, I kind of like them harder! Bathing Bertha was actually a remake of a quick drawing I did last year, and rendered poorly in marker. I like this version much better! Hope you enjoy it! As always, I welcome your comments!

Illustration Friday - YIELD

YIELD - Because some animals ALWAYS have the right of way!

This week's word, YIELD was tough for me because I kept thinking "car" and figured that would be a popular subject. I like to be different! But when my friend Jill mentioned "skunk" the proverbial light bulb went off & I totally ran with it! My eye actually teared like the rabbit's while I was working on it, but I can assure you, it was due to a mascara malfunction, & not a skunk in my studio!!! Was really tired, & anticipated doing a shoddy rushed job, but I had a lot of fun playing around with this one & am kinda lovin' it! Click on the picture to see it full-size! A Place for My Illustration Friday Challenges!

I had been posting my Illustration Friday challenges to my website, but noticed, upon commenting on other artists' work, that most people use a blog. Hmmmm......when I think of the word "BLOG" the word "BABBLE" comes to mind. I babble plenty in person - no need to pollute the internet with more! And yet, this seems to work for so many great artists!  And so, I've decided to jump on the band wagon....but I promise you'll always find MORE art, and LESS babble! :)
