Illustration Friday - TRAVEL


I'm not really a people-person, much preferring to draw animals, but I just LOVE this guy!!! (a lot more than his horse does!!)  I normally would have drawn the horse first, but I had such a strong image of the cowboy in my head, that he came pouring onto the page in all his roly poly glory, and I had to sketch in several mounts under him before I settled upon this sturdy chestnut!     Haha, I'm glad you drew a stocky horse to carry this fellow! He does look very jolly - perhaps he sat on the couch for some years growing that belly.. and then decided in a fit of joyful decision-making to get back in the saddle!

    Haha, another funny drawing, Mit. Look at those stocky legs on that horse, wow, must have Clydesdale in its DNA. And I like this jolly fellow, he's got a LOT of guts!

    Aw, poor horse, but such a cute cowboy :) He looks like someone I know, but maybe I won't tell that guy that?

    Your cowboy *is* a very lovable character! I can imagine a whole story in this illustration -- maybe with your cowboy giving his poor horse a lift in the end.

    Love it! You drew the perfect horse for your adorable cowboy. He looks just tired enough to complain about it, but he's still willing to carry his portly pal around.

    that horse is getting a workout, carrying around a cowboy who is NOT the Marlboro Man... he kinda looks like he might've eaten the Marlboro Man and that poor horse is paying the price for it. Really fun piece Mit
