Illustration Friday - WHISPER

When I first saw this week's prompt, I wanted to do something a little different. And I came up with the idea of a "whispering wind"........except with all the storms we've had around here over the past month, I'm more familiar with a screaming, howling, obnoxious wind (another of which is forecasted for overnight!) And so I came up with the image below during a meeting at work.  But the meeting was so long, I had time to work up an alternative sketch based on the idea of "whispering sweet nothings"....thus, the image above. Although, from the look on Hank's face, I'm pretty sure Bonnie isn't whispering NOTHING.... & might not be the type of girl often described as "sweet".....just sayin' :)

  1. Great job on both of these Michele... I love Hank's expression, it says so much about what he's hearing... And your dog is so expressive. That's great use of line to convey motion... you can kind of feel the wind in looking at it.

  2. You know when I first saw the topic I thought we'd already had it because I remembered doing an illustration for "whisper sweet nothings". But when I went back and looked and I did it for "Secret". I like your take on the theme a lot. I think Bonnie is a bit of a fun tease! Love her mane! And Hank's expression is priceless!!

  7. Hank doesn't look quite ready for Bonnie, but something tells me she will be persistent!

Love the long-suffering windblown guy. I'm guessing you were putting your own weather-beaten feelings into that one...

  8. Love all their expressions -- the stories are VERY clear, and funny! The whisperer is a great feminist statement too! The windblown dog is a strong, steady presence, ready to laugh at his peculiar situation but not goin' anywhere.
