Robin enjoyed a quiet spot and a juicy novel...almost as much as a juicy worm!
Ever enjoy a book so much, you were sort of depressed when you finished it? I really liked this week's theme, as I'm a voracious reader, finishing anywhere between 25-40 books per year. Just finished the Hunger Games trilogy & was rather depressed when I turned the last page - I thought it was that entertaining!
This piece was another quick one. I played around a little bit this week, & had some fun in Photoshop. I wanted to create a quiet spot for Robin to get immersed in a book. I hope you like it!
I'm also including below an older piece that I shared earlier in the year that is a great fit for this week's theme. I haven't had the time to do something that detailed in awhile, but really enjoyed the pen & ink work when I did, so wanted to share him again! As always, I appreciate you stopping by!

Haha, the owl is so funny! Possibly from his expression he has reached one of the steamy bits! Ah, Richard Chamberlain and Rachel Ward. Looks like a very comfy spot for a read. And yes, I totally get sad when books are over. The longer the book or series, the sadder I am!ReplyDelete
Great book illustrations! But I think my favorite is the tiger!!! Great colors and detail! :) You as you said put more detail into it and it really shows. Love it!! But little birdie seems cozy. Yes, I as well get sad when a book series ends and I just want to read it slower. But THAT does not work. I zip thru it. ARG!ReplyDelete
Adorable Owl! I have often wished I could be like Holly on Red Dwarf, and wipe my mind of my favorite books so I can enjoy them all over again for the first time.ReplyDelete
Oh the owl looks so snuggly! You've captured perfectly that feeling of comfort reading a book brings!ReplyDelete
Aww I know how Robin feels, I like nothing more than to find a corner to read in. Love your Tiger too - so detailed :)ReplyDelete
glad you reposted the Tiger piece... I love it and it fits the theme perfectly this week(his pince nez reading glasses are freakin' awesome!) Robin's background threw me a little bit of a curve... it looks great, it's just such a departure from the work of your I know to have that photo background. Fits great with the drawing and Robin looks great, tucked away and lost in a book. Can't go wrong with owl drawings!ReplyDelete
Great job Mit(as always)
Ha. The Thorn Birds. That's funny.ReplyDelete
Yeah, I was dreading turning the last page of The Mutiny On The Bounty trilogy, and when it finally came I was definitely depressed. Best book I've ever read, by far.
That tiger illustration is worth repeating. It's great.
The tiger is fantastic. I love the way he is curled up :)ReplyDelete
I love the bird in his nest stuck in to a great book. Such a spicy one as well. Hmmm...those times are less now as snuggling with a kindle isn't quite the same.ReplyDelete
You are so right, Michele! Which is why I have resisted getting one......so far, anyway! :)Delete
i love all the details you put in your art, and those glasses on the tiger are adorable!ReplyDelete
Ha ha! Love that he is reading the Thorn Birds... maybe Phoebe should give that one a go or possibly the Hunger Games?ReplyDelete
Great illo of tiger too... :)
Lovely illustration! I liked the tiger illustration, so much enjoying the book in such a curly comfy pose.ReplyDelete
