When I first saw this week's prompt was "TALENT," I was going to draw a character doing something completely silly...like juggling kittens & cups of tea or something....but then I really thought about it, & a "talent" is something to be admired and appreciated.....so I thought back to this piece I really liked that I did WAAAAAAAAAY back in college, that was inspired by one of my favorite guitarists, Steve Vai. Talk about talent!!!
And while the word "talent" may be defined as "a special natural ability or aptitude," make no mistake, that does not mean there is no work involved. A talent is as much a SKILL as it is a gift. I am sure Steve Vai does plenty of practicing! Oddly enough, the example next to the definition was "a talent for drawing." I can speak first hand to the amount of practice it takes to hone one's skills in that area!! I am always trying to learn & improve when it comes to that! I'm sure many of you can relate!
Anyway, thanks for stopping by, and taking a peek at a little something out of the archives! Thats weird...I drew a guitar guy to begin with (My hobby is guitar)..then changed it...I love Steve Vai too...and Hendrix!ReplyDelete
Cool pic BTW!
I totally agree with you about talent. The best ones are those who keep practicing. I am sorry, I only know a few guitarist like George Harrison, Eric Clapton...but I know bands though and I always notice they play guitars. Have a great week!ReplyDelete
