Illustration Friday - ROBOT

I didn't think I was going to participate in this week's challenge, but it's funny how a boring meeting can spark my imagination! They're actually a blessing, because I wouldn't have been able to post half as much as I have to Illustration Friday if I had to rely on my spare time alone!  This was sketched & inked during a meeting today. A notoriously miserable co-worker glanced over & started laughing ... so I guess my mission was accomplished before I was even finished!  It was fun to be able to give him a smile!   Thanks for stopping by!!!

  1. Ha! I can't stand meetings... but they do provide some good doodling time. How great that you got your sourpuss co-worker to laugh, too!

I'm quite sure that robot just wants to make friends... he's just coming on a little strong. :-)

  3. I could see this anywhere on the internet and know that you drew it! Your style is so distinct and identifying, it's like your fingerprint! Great job on this whole drawing. I wish worked fast enough to take an illustration through the inking within a boring work meeting... Great job Mit

  4. what a perfect piece for the theme! really love the addition of the dog reacting to the robot! I'm having a hard time coming up with an idea and seeing your idea gives me some motivation, but I probably won't get around to creating anything. On that note it's really great that you can create some doodles during a meeting! ;)

  5. Yikes, it's run away robot action! Reminds me of a cross between Rosie from the Jetsons and the Lost in Space robot. Oh dear, I believe I've dated myself!

  6. What a wonderful, out of control, happy looking robot! I love the look that you captured with the dog too, I love how dogs, when they get scared, sort of look behind them, try to escape and scrunch up their bodies all at once. Captured perfectly :)

  7. I was a no show on the robot theme. Good job. But jungle is right up my alley.

  8. That robot looks absolutely psycho. I'd run too.

Are you the only one drawing at your meetings? Seems that would get a ton of attention. In animation studios half of the people are drawing at meetings, and usually drawing whoever is sitting across from them.

  9. Haha that robot looks out of control! Like he really really wants to cuddle the dog... This is a great result for that meeting. I hope the goal for the meeting was met as well :)
