Illustration Friday - PUZZLED

Maggie had no idea what happened! She'd only gone into the kitchen for a minute to fetch the carrots!

This week was another fun one for me! Lots of things popped into my head when I first read the prompt, "puzzled," and the first was a dog cocking its head. But I thought that might be a bit popular, so I went with something different....and INDOORS! Needed a change from all the woodsy scenes I've been doing lately! So I did the line drawing for the piece above last night. But today, during a meeting at work (where I do my best doodling!) I came back to the dog cocking it's head in puzzlement.  Thought I'd share him with you as well...

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great week!!

If only they fluently spoke the same language we do...

  1. Haha! I was going to do a dog cocking his head also but changed my mind. I have a feeling that woman above is only going to be temporarily puzzled. Either she will hear some serious lip smacking or she will simply remember she has a dog! The woman and the dog are both really great. Love the colors, too. It's a very nicely done scene.

  21. Brilliant! I love her bewildered look - and her chicken-pilfering hound's rather sheepish expression from under the table :) To suddenly find your roast dinner's become a vegetarian affair must be pretty disappointing, though! P.S. Thanks for your post over on my blog :)

  37. Hahah I can totally relate to this picture. My pup is responsible for a lot of things missing around the house, not only food. Great job on the illustration! So much character =)

  39. HA! Love your work and sense of humor! The horse in the bucket at the bottom of your blog is my absolute favorite. I especially love the *poke* hole under his tail :)...I ride weekly and they sure do love their sponge baths this time of year. I Look forward to seeing more of your work.

  40. Our dog is acrobatic - there are a select few "safe zones" in our house to put food down. Otherwise, its at your own risk!
